College Visits:

Juniors and Seniors interested in visiting with the college reps, please sign up outside Ms. Powers' office and be sure to meet with your teachers for missed work. Reminder, you are NOT excused if you have a test/quiz in your classes that day.

  • New scholarship for our 2018 seniors that has a quick deadline: April 27th

    Kenneth M. Koob and Constance J. Koob Memorial Charitable Scholarship Fund Trust is offering a $500.00 to graduating senior.

    Please write a 300 word or less essay on the following: How your academic achievements, personal interests, and life experiences have helped prepared you to succeed academically 300 words or less.

    3rd Annual CelebrAsian Scholar Application

    To showcase young Asian women & men that will best represent their culture, beauty, intelligence and talent. Winner gets the CelebrAsian Scholar Title and a $750 scholarship. Runner up gets $250 Scholarship. Candidate must be a Senior in High school up to a Junior in College and of Asian heritage by at least one parent.  Candidate must show their dedication to Community Service, education and their culture. Be A Legacy for Tomorrow.

    Those interested in running for the CelebrAsian Scholar must do the following;

    • Submit an application (Listed below), resume and a one-page essay
    • Submit a Bio & headshot photo that will be posted on Iowa Asian Alliance social media for the community to see finalists.  
    • Must wear Asian heritage attire for the CelebrAsian Fashion Show on Saturday, May 26th in Des Moines, IA.
    • Answer a question from judges on Saturday, May 26th
    • Requirements to participate;

    • Currently enrolled in High School or a college/university between the years of a Senior Credit High School student and a Junior credit college/university student.
    • Be of Asian heritage by at least one parent.
    • At least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale.
    • Completed at least 10 hours of community service within the past 2017-2018 school year.              
    • Submit application and attachments by online submission by 5PM, Friday, May 11th, 2018 or printed applications should be submitted to celebrasian.entertainment@iowaasianalliance.com. Application can be downloaded by clicking the "CelebrAsian Scholar Application" link at top of this page.

  • The Dallas Clark Foundation is a nonprofit organization established by Dallas Clark, a native of Livermore, Iowa. One of the initiatives of The Dallas Clark Foundation is to assist students from the Humboldt and Kossuth County area who are pursuing a post secondary education by awarding college scholarships. This year, The Dallas Clark Foundation is awarding ten $3,000 scholarships. To apply for a 2018 Dallas Clark Foundation Scholarship, please complete this application and mail it to P.O. Box 44, Livermore, Iowa 50558 on or before April 27, 2018. See Mrs. Powers for application. 

 

  • Foundation for blended and online learning scholarship  Deadline April 30, 2018

    Our Student Scholarship Program is for high school seniors who have completed a minimum of five (5) blended and/or online courses during their last two years of high school and plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.   • Iowa Association of Building Officials is offering a scholarship for students who plan to pursue careers in the construction industry. Deadline: May 1, 2018 for more information and application go to: www.iabo.net or see Mrs. Powers.

 

  • Ag Coop Safety Directors of Iowa, Mark Hambleton Scholarship Deadline: May 1, 2018See Mrs. Powers for application 

Scholarship available for students who plan to go into Agriculture Studies in college.

As a founding member of the Ag Coop Safety Directors of Iowa (ACSDIA), Mark Hambleton was dedicated to the future of Agricultural safety and those working in and around the Ag industry. Mark served as an officer in the ACSDIA for many years and as the Safety Director of Pro Cooperative he was one of the first in the nation to arrange for his cooperative to donate grain bin cofferdams to local fire departments for grain bin rescues. In honor of his dedication to the future of Ag Safety, the ACSDIA is sponsoring the Mark Hambleton Memorial Scholarship. The Mark Hambleton Memorial Scholarship will consist of a one-time disbursal of $500 to the recipients selected college or university in the Fall 2018 Academic Semester. If possible, the ACSDIA would like to present this award to the recipient at our July 18, 2018 meeting in Story City, Iowa.

  • Master Builders of Iowa is hosting two separate career fairs for students interested in entering the commercial construction industry and general information about industry itself. The Northwest Iowa Down Syndrome Society offers scholarships for students who plan to major in special education- the Buddy Scholarship. Briar Cliff University Seniors who plan to attend Briar Cliff and belong to a Catholic parish in the Diocese of Sioux City may be eligible for the Bishop's Scholarship. For more details go to  https://www.briarcliff.edu/BishopScholar


Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship      Deadline: April 30, 2018

  • Applications for the 2018 Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship are now available. This is a scholarship in honor of former Iowa State University basketball player Brian Pearson, who died of brain cancer in the fall of 1997. We have been awarding this scholarship since 1998.
  • This scholarship is awarded to one male and one female each year.
  • Applicants must be high school juniors or seniors for the 2016-2017 school year who have previously participated in any Iowa Games events (Summer Iowa Games, Winter Iowa Games, Iowa Games Net Fest or Iowa Games Mud Run).

Accuplan Benefits Services announces that they will be providing a $2,000 scholarship to a hard-working student!

The scholarship is intended to help students to be successful in school and raise awareness to the rising generation about the importance of retirement. The application process includes making a 30-second video explaining what they would like to do in the future once they have retired, and what are some things that they can be doing now and in the future to be ready for retirement. Deadline: May 1, 2018  For application go to: https://www.accuplan.net/scholarship-promo.htm 


Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship administered by MidWestOne Bank, as Trustee of the Pearl Hull Falk Trust is now available.

PGA Iowa Section- Charlie Burkhart Scholarship Deadline: June 15, 2018  

Application in counselor’s office.  Interest in golf, activity in golf and the potential for future contributions to the game, any graduating senior who lives in the Iowa PGA boundaries and a resident in Iowa.  Must submit transcripts, two recommendations and essay. Horatio Alger  Scholarship Deadline: varies 

  • Applicants must exhibit a strong desire to pursue a bachelor’s degree regardless of financial or adversity barriers.

ICCC Foundation Scholarships


Iowa College Aid Commission offers several scholarships and grants for college bound students. Go to www.iowacollegeaid.gov for a complete listing and qualifications.


Seniors who are thinking of attending ISU in the fall:

Here are the steps that they need to complete to be considered for Office of Student Financial Aid awards:

  1. Go to the scholarship section of ISU's Financial Aid Website (www.financialaid.iastate.edu)
  2. Select the Office of Student Financial Aid Scholarships (FinAidScholar) button
  3. Select "Freshman" 
  4. Read the directions
  5. Register for a Net-ID (Directions included on website)
  6. Click on "Apply on our FinAidScholar Website"!
  7. Log in with your Net-ID
  8. Select the Freshman Application
  9. Click on "Click Here to Apply!"
  10. Complete the application by 1 December
  11. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to 1 December . 
    1. The first time a student/family is able to complete the FAFSA application is 1 October of the student's senior year.

Note: If you have already completed the FinAidScholar application, you do NOT need to complete another one.

This application is ONLY for scholarships administered through The Office of Student Financial Aid. Please be sure to check with Admissions, your college and/or department, and private donors to maximize your scholarship search.
