Menu Changes - due to not having school on January 25th we are serving that lunch menu (cheese pizza) on Monday, January 30th.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Postponement - the JV/V Basketball Games that were scheduled for Tuesday, January 24th at Webster City have been rescheduled to Thursday, February 2nd.

Free Workshop for Parents -The Behavior Doctor is in!!!  All parents are invited to attend a free session with Behavior Doctor, Dr. Laura Riffel on Monday, February 13th from 6-7 p.m. at 800 North 32nd Street in Fort Dodge.  Dr. Riffel will offer tools and strategies to help with behavior at home. She will show parents how to take a targeted behavior and determine what is the trigger of that behavior and what your child is trying to communicate by having that behavior. She will also show you how to develop a plan to magically make the behavior disappear. Free child care will be offered. The event is jointly sponsored by Fort Dodge Community Schools and Prairie Lakes AEA. 

2017 Great Kindness Challenge - This week (January 23 - 27) is a global event designed to promote acts of kindness during the school year.  The organization provides a checklist of kind acts students can perform throughout the week.  Schools all over the world will be participating in this event.  The official checklist is attached, but there are many other ways to be kind.  Please encourage your child to be creative and come up with additional ways to show kindness to their families, friends and community.  Our hope is that by participating in this challenge, students will focus on how to make our community a kinder place.  Thank you for supporting your student and our school as we search for ways to be kind this week - Liz Dent, Elementary School Counselor

Community Days Coupon Booklets - the After School Program is selling Younkers coupon booklets.  They are available in both elementary school offices.  For a $5.00 donation you will get a booklet full of coupon savings of up to $500.  The coupons will be valid from Thursday, February 23 to Saturday, February 25.   They are valid in store or online. Thank you for supporting our After School Program. 

Music Booster Calendar Correction - This calendar shows no school on February 17 and 24.  This is in error.  There IS school on February 17 and 24.  You may view the school calendar online at www.humboldt.k12.ia.us by clicking on the calendar tab then click on school year on the home page.   

HHS After Prom Committee is hosting fundraisers in the month of January to help raise funds for After Prom activities.  The next one will be on January 31st. There will be a pie social in the HHS Cafeteria from 5:00 - 7:30 during the HS Basketball games vs. Hampton-Dumont.  The event is a free will offerings; thank you for your support. 

All Kindergarten Students need to have a vision screening completed by February 2017.  If you haven't gotten your child screened yet please request a form from our school nurse or get the printable form at http://idph.iowa.gov/family-health/child-health/vision-screening.  Take the form with you when they get their vision checked and return the completed form to school.  If you have any questions please contact the school nurse, Mrs. Hardgrove, at chardgrove@humboldt.k12.ia.us
