Program description:

Instructional Decision Making is a process that allows schools to focus on multiple types of reading instruction to use for individual students by understanding data from individual student assessments.


Anticipated program outcomes:

IDM will allow specific reading instruction for specific student needs. This approach should assist students in overcoming any weaknesses they have and allow every student to become a proficient reader.


Current implementation status:

Humboldt Middle School has implemented the IDM process for reading. All students have been assessed and given specific instruction in their area of need in grades 6, 7, and 8.


How to support Instructional Decision Making:

All students and parents are encouraged to learn about IDM, understand the lexile reading levels and support the continued assessments of student progress.
