  • Forms are available in the office for 2nd semester Schedule changes, Open Campus, and PE Opt Out. Seniors need to reapply for Open Campus for second semester.
  • Congratulations to 9th grade boys on their win over Hampton on Thursday night!! Way to go!!
  • The schedule for District Speech Contest is now available at . The bus for Fort Dodge will load in the back parking lot of HHS at 7:15 AM on Saturday 1/25.
  • Due to increased interest after the shirts came out, the yearbook staff will be selling the Litterbox (student section) shirts again. Online store will close on Monday, Jan 27th. Here is the link to the store:
  • Announcing the Spring Play: Game of Tiaras - a comedy by Don Zilidas, a mash-up between Game of Thrones and "not" Disney Princesses.  Directed by Mrs. Emily Wiebke. The audition packets are available in the office. Please pick one up to prepare for auditions on 01/21 (5-7pm) and 01/23 (6-8pm) in the Little Aud. Signup for a time slot outside of Rm. #15. Please let Mrs. Wiebke know if you will need to audition at a different time. Additional auditions will be scheduled at her discretion.
  • Are you interested in adventures?  Join Mrs. Myers on an Adventure in Belize.  Mayan Ruins, tubing through caves, ziplining, jungle survival skills, and snorkeling are all included in this adventure!  There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, January 28th from 6-7PM in Room 3
  • Music Booster meeting January 20 at 6:30 in the high school media center.

  •    The Ronald Reagan Great Communicator Debate Scholarship opportunity. Join the conversation on issues facing the nation and discover the Great Communicator in you! Registration is now open for the Ronald Reagan Great Communicator Debate Series (GCDS) for high school students. Showcase your skills and knowledge, Compete for college scholarships No experience needed. GCDS is a different kind of debate competition. Participants structure their argument in a friendly, conversational format, mirroring President Ronald Reagan’s communications style, emphasizing presentation as much as arguments and evidence. GCDS was founded to develop engaged, informed, and conscientious citizens. Participants effectively use logic, evidence, and personality to communicate their ideas. The event is comprised of five in-person and one online qualifying competition. Two finalists from each region along with the top debaters from two national organizations compete in the National Championship at the Ronald Reagan Presidential LibraryinJuly. GCDS is led by Ms. Chris Adams, a Six Diamond NSDA Coach and former GCDS Midwest Regional Host. The 2020 Topic: Resolved: States are more effective at legislating to improve the environment than the federal government.  
  • ACACIA Leadership- Iowa State University - Deadline: March 1, 2020- Outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated their ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities, and community involvement.  Available to any male who attends the ISU. This is an Acacia Fraternity affiliation and preference will be given to those who plan to pledge this fraternity. See Mrs. Powers for application.
  • Citizens Community Credit Union. Deadline: February 28, 2020Two scholarships will be offered to high school seniors who are a member of Citizens Community Credit Union Entrants must submit an activity form that includes high school involvement, community service, and work experience (your activity resume would be perfect for this). The student must also submit an essay based on this topic: "People Helping People" is a common theme in the credit union movement. As you move into adulthood, how do you intend to incorporate this philosophy into your life?  Visit under the resource tab/scholarship for more information.
  • The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) tests are designed to measure aptitudes in four domains: Verbal, Math, Science and Technical, and Spatial. The program provides tools to help students learn more about various career exploration and planning, in both the civilian and military worlds of work.  This tool is not only used for those interested in going into the military. Your test scores will not be released to any military branch without your permission. The ASVAB will be administered at the high school on February 12, 2020, from 12:00-3:30.  Interested students should sign up in the office.  We need at least 5 students to offer the test.
  • First Friday Breakfast Club Deadline: March 16, 2020.  Application is open to a graduating senior who demonstrates significant efforts in educating their schools and/or communities on the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues, promoting LGBT acceptance and reducing homophobia.
