  • There will be a meeting for any girls interested in participation in track this spring on Wednesday, January 25 after school with Coach Ross in his classroom at the middle school.
  • Sara Scharf from ICCC will be in the auditorium on Thursday during CATS time to meet with students taking online courses through ICCC this semester. She will be providing important information you need to know moving forward as well as answering any questions you may have about your classes. 
  • Congratulations to the NCC Conference Wrestling Dual Champions!
  • Congratulations to the large group speech participants—they advanced three groups to State Contest by earning I's: Ensemble Acting, Group Improv, and Musical Theatre.  Readers Theatre  earned a II rating for their hard work. Great job Wildcats!
  • Congratulations to the boys basketball team on an exciting win over Algona last night!!
  • The Succeed Virtual College Fair will be held next Wednesday, February 1 from 5:30-8 p.m. This is a great opportunity to connect with multiple colleges in a short amount of time. Register to attend this free event at Each session is 45 minutes and features six colleges. Learn about campus life, programs and majors, financial aid and more. If you have questions or are interested in learning more about a school, take part next Wednesday. See Ms. Westerhoff for more information.
  • Are you playing a spring or summer sport?  Do you need a physical?  Do you need transportation to the clinic?  Humboldt Schools and UnityPoint Clinic in Humboldt are working together to set time aside for those who need a physical starting at 1 PM until 4PM, Wednesday, March 8th, 2023.  Please sign up on the sign up sheet in the office.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Douglas.  
  • The Humboldt Dance Team will sponsor a Silent Auction fundraiser Friday, Jan. 27th during the home quad basketball game vs. H-D/CAL in the high school cafeteria.
  • The Humboldt High School Dance Team showcase is January 28th starting at 7pm in the high school gym. Admission is $5. Children 5 and under are free.
  • The Girls State Wrestling store is open at the following link: The store will close on January 25 at 11:59 PM.  Choose the pick up option when ordering.

  • BOLDT Nutrition will be hosting a fundraiser for Landon McKenney on Sunday, January 29 1:00-3:00. Landon’s mom, Heather, passed away last week. Community members, teachers and friends want to pass on the kindness and willingness to help others that his mother showed our community daily. Proceeds will be donated to the McKenney family to help Landon in the future.
  • Humboldt will host Regional Dual wrestling on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m. Below is the link to order boys state dual wrestling t-shirts. Deadline for ordering is Jan. 31. Under shipping check the pick up option. Shirts will be available either the evening of Feb. 2 or on Friday, Feb. 3. The state dual tournament is Saturday, Feb. 4, in Coralville. In the event Humboldt does not qualify, Optic Ink will refund the money. Shirts will have names of team members on the back. Shirt design by Jake Zweibohmer.  
  • Junior parents will be having a cake raffle fundraiser on February 2. Please consider donating a cake or two or three. Volunteers are also needed to sell raffle tickets.  Sign up for cake donation at the following link.  Cake Raffle  Please include the kind of cake you plan to donate (if you know what kind you are making).

  • Spring Driver’s Ed dates: February 20-March 31 and March 20-April 28. The classroom portion will remain online and the driving portion will be done in person.
  •  Many of the available scholarships have January and February deadlines. Click on the following link for scholarship opportunities.  Scholarships   This link will be updated as additional scholarship opportunities are available.
  • CATS Time-students should select their CATs for Monday on Friday and select Thursday’s CATS on Wednesday. They shouldn't choose for Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays. Seniors have open campus during CATS—unless a teacher has selected you to be in their CATS, then you must report to that teacher.
  • FCA (Fellow of Christian Athletes) will meet on Wednesdays at 6:15pm at The Beach's House (44 Rainbow Dr. in Humboldt).  There will be a light supper, fellowship time, and a bible lesson.  Would love to have you join us and bring a friend! If you need a ride, let Mrs. Beach know and transportation can be arranged!
  • Wildcat Warrior’s Game Club will meet every Monday in the media center from 3:30-5:30. Dungeons and Dragons, Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Catan, RoboRally, Splendor and many more…Bring a new game to teach or come and learn a new game.
  • Regarding live streaming of winter sports activities from Greg Thomas--When/if  I receive livestreaming and/or ticket information from schools we are traveling to, I will put that information on our rSchool Activities Calendar.   It will show up as a ticket icon and a film projector icon on that calendar.  You can simply click on the icon and it will take you to those links.  Please visit this website for the most up-to-date livestream and ticketing info: Scroll down to Monday, Nov. 21st (Girls BB @ Gilbert) for an example of what this looks like.If there are no links there, we haven't received any info from the host school. Another good thing to do is visit the host school's website for this information.  Feel free to share this with family, friends and community members.
