  • Congratulations to the girls wrestling team! Kendal Clark is the 2020 state champion and Tia Woeste finished 8th. The remainder of the team accounted for over 50 points that allowed our team to finish 7th out of over 120 teams. Great job Cats!!!
  • The boys wrestling team finished 3rd at the NCC conference Invitational Saturday. Congratulations to Conference champions  Cresten Craven, Levi Naeve and Logan Nilles.
  • Any Incomplete grades need to be finished by Wednesday, January 29. If you have any incomplete grades, meet with your teachers before Wednesday to get them cleared up.
  • The Humboldt Speech team advanced 10 performances to State contest on February 9 in LeMars. Acts that earned Division One ratings and advancing to State included Ensemble Acting Holly Kichhoff and Emie Wolter; Musical Theatre Megan Abens and Hailey Box; Solo Mime Kossett Burmeister; Group Improv Devon Coon, Donovan Froisland, and Logan Kehoe; Group Improv Hailey Box, Jake Halvorson, and Luke Sievers; Group Improv Leah Johnson, Grace Minor, Sam Mooney, and Zayne Smith; Group Mime Chloe Carlson, Cassondra Ruzicka, and Sydney Savery; Short Film Aiden Christensen, Max Mason, and Quinton Orr; Reader's Theatre Cameron Beach, Devon Coon, Lauren Erickson, Jake Halvorson, Logan Kehoe, Kelly Skow, Emie Wolter, Braden Sandven, Sydney Savery, Aneisha Sritharan, Carter Theesfeld, and Chloe Mayall; Freshman Reader's Theatre Dani Abens, Elle Clark, Camden Karageorge, Payten Kramer, Andee Manaply, Kelly Manz, Taryn McKimmey, Brody Paterson, Ollin Vick, and Erin Wittrock. Acts that performed well and received Division 2 ratings were Solo Mime Katie Wilhelm; Ensemble Acting Lauren Erickson, Kelly Skow, Gracie Vitzthum, Jayda Vitzthum, and Nora Carlson; Ensemble Acting Josie Harvey, Grace Minor, Zayne Smith, and Aneisha Sritharan; and Musical Theatre Camden Karageorge and Collin Vick. Way to go, Speechies!
  • There are several coats and pullovers that have been turned in to the high school office. If you have lost one at a function or left in a classroom, you can claim them in the office
  • Due to increased interest after the shirts came out, the yearbook staff will be selling the Litterbox (student section) shirts again. Online store will close on Monday, Jan 27th. Here is the link to the store:
  • Spring play auditions-Rescheduled to Monday, January 27th (TODAY) at 6-8 pm in the Little Aud,  if available-otherwise, will be in Mrs. Wiebke's room #15
  • Are you interested in adventures?  Join Mrs. Myers on an Adventure in Belize.  Mayan Ruins, tubing through caves, ziplining, jungle survival skills, and snorkeling are all included in this adventure!  There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, January 28th from 6-7PM in Room 3
  • Attention parents-We need your help! If you have a son or daughter that is planning on attending prom, please strongly consider donating $20-$25 to the after prom committee. The money donated will help in many different areas such as entertainment, prizes, etc. Donations can be sent to the school with your son or daughter and dropped off in the school office. Thank you all for your support. We appreciate everyone’s help to make this a successful after prom.
  • The After Prom Committee is hosting a Pampered Chef Fundraiser to help fund our annual After Prom Event!  Anyone from anywhere can order and have their order direct shipped to them, feel free to share the party link with your friends and family.  All orders need to be placed by Jan 29th.  You may view the catalog and place your order on the Fundraiser at
  • CAN will be live-streaming a presentation, Life After High School: Career and College Planning seminar on February 6 at 6 pm from any device. The presentation will be live and the attendee can ask questions (typing or talking) to ICAN Student Success Advisor Steve Irvin as he presents.   • ASVAB assessment- Another career tool available to our students. We will be administering the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) to students interested. These tests are designed to measure aptitudes in four domains: Verbal, Math, Science and Technical, and Spatial. The program provides tools to help students learn more about career exploration and planning, in both the civilian and military worlds of work. The ASVAB will be administered at the high school on February 12, 2020, from 12:00-3:00. Interested students should sign up in the office. We need at least 5 students to offer the test.
