  • Congratulations to the Humboldt Wildcats wrestling team for qualifying for the 2020 State Duals on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.  Wrestling begins at 9:00 AM.  You can find the entire schedule on the IHSAA website, as well as on our district activity calendar. This is the first time since 2001 the Wildcats have qualified.  In an effort to allow as many people as possible to go support the wrestling TEAM, we have decided to not have school on Wednesday, February 19th.  This will be made up at the end of the school year, just like our snow days. This is an exciting time and well-deserved honor for our Humboldt wrestling TEAM. We hope to see a sea of Blue & Gold in the stands at Wells Fargo on February 19th.  GO CATS!!!
  • CONGRATULATIONS!!! To varsity basketball teams on their Victories over Webster City!!! Way to go Cats!!!
  • Reminder—When your winter sport ends, you need to pick up a PE Opt Out Activity log. These are available in the office.
  • If you were unable to attend the track meeting sign-up in the office and pick up an informational packet.
  • The Humboldt County Food Pantry needs volunteers TODAY at 3:30 to help unload a large donation. Silver cord hours are available! Please come help if you are available!  The Food Pantry is located on Highway 3 in the county shed-across from John Deere.
  • In accordance with the policy in the school handbook delivery of flowers, balloons, singing grams, etc.is not accepted on Valentine’s Day due to the disruption to the school environment and learning. Deliveries two days before and two days after Valentine’s Day will also not be allowed. February 12-18.
  • Senior Students attending the Senior Fine arts trip please meet immediately after school in the band room. 
  • Do you like neon colors and blacklights? On Friday, March 6th, there will be a Throwback Glow Dance in the cafeteria from 8-11pm. Tickets will be $4 beforehand and $5 at the door. Tickets can be purchased from Mrs.K now, or during lunch in the cafeteria in coming weeks. 
  • Several rings have been turned in to the office. If you have lost one, please claim in the office.
  • High School Parent Teacher Conferences February 25.
  • ICAN is hosting an event for seniors to take part in Covering College Costs: Understanding & Comparing College Financial Aid on Thursday, February 13 at 5:30 pm. This online presentation can be viewed on any device from the comfort of their home or office. The presentation will be live and the attendee can ask questions (typing or talking) to ICAN Student Success Advisor John Holland as he presents. Completing the FAFSA is an important step for students in the college-going process, but what happens after you hit submit? What are the next steps? In this webinar, we will explain the pieces of an award letter, how packages are put together, and how to compare one award package to another.   • ASVAB assessment- Another career tool available to our students. We will be administering the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) to students interested. These tests are designed to measure aptitudes in four domains: Verbal, Math, Science and Technical, and Spatial. The program provides tools to help students learn more about career exploration and planning, in both the civilian and military worlds of work. The ASVAB will be administered at the high school on February 12, 2020, from 12:00-3:00. Interested students should sign up in the office. We need at least 5 students to offer the test.
  • Iowa Central Community College invites students for the Jam-the-Gym and Triton Visit Day on Saturday, February 15, 2020, Starting at 9 am with the games to follow at 1 and 3 pm. Admission is free along with a t-shirt and a chance to win other great prizes. RSVP at www.iowacentral.edu/admission/visit.asp for the visit day. No need to register if you plan to attend only the games.
