  • Meal changes: High School: Dec 16th meal served on 19th, Dec 19th meal served on 20th, December 20th meal taken out, 21st and 22nd stay the same
  • Undefeated in varsity competition at Northwood duals was Levi Marchant, Zayn Feaster and Daylin McDaniel Jase Goodell won the Fort Dodge Invitational in the process collecting his 100th career victory Humboldt is currently ranked #10 in the IAWrestle dual rankings.
  • School will dismiss two hours early on December 22. Christmas break will be December 23-January 3. Classes will resume on January 4, 2023. The schedule for December 22 will run as follows:

  • Santa is coming to HHS.  Get your picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus on Thursday, December 22nd at the Pancake Breakfast.  Pictures are $1 per student in the picture. Digital copies will be emailed to you.  Grab your friends and have a blast having your pictures taken with Santa! It's never too late to let him know what you want for Christmas.🎅🎄
  • Any student who wants to make a change to his or her schedule for second semester should email Ms. Westerhoff with a day and time you are available to meet with her.
  • PE Opt Out forms are available on the table outside the office. If you know you will be opting out of PE 2nd semester, please complete the form and turn in to the office before Christmas break.
  • Volunteers are needed for Christmasland. Please see Mrs. Nielsen if you would like to volunteer. This is a great Silver Cord opportunity.
  • Seniors who have not scheduled a senior interview with Ms. Westerhoff need to do so as soon as possible. The interview takes approximately 10 minutes. Please contact her via email or stop by her office to set up your interview.
  • Seniors need to make sure and check your emails for the Community Scholarship Application. The application is due on Friday, January 6. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Westerhoff.
  • Spring Driver’s Ed dates: February 20-March 31 and March 20-April 28. The classroom portion will remain online and the driving portion will be done in person.
  • HHS 13 days of Christmas.  Everyday students are encouraged to participate in the daily activities.  See the emailed announcements for the week's activities
  • The Humboldt Dance Team Clinic will be the morning of January 28th. Please sign your dancer up by January 6th.  Here is the link: Dance Team Clinic
  • Off season lifting is open for any students not involved with basketball or wrestling. Open weight room hours are Mondays: 3:30 pm-4:30 pm, Tuesdays: 6:15 am-7:15 am, Thursdays: 6:15 am-7:15 am. 
  • Cat Cafe Special Offer for December:  Buy ONE, Get ONE half off on all Smoothies, Lattes, and Spritzers.  Get your friend their favorite drink every Friday morning in December.  Specialty drinks are included! Remember-the Cat Café will be open on Thursday, December 22 during the day’s activities! The Cat Café will be in the cafeteria during the pancake breakfast on Thursday.
  • Christmas Break is a great time to complete scholarship applications. Many of the available scholarships have January and February deadlines. Click on the following link for scholarship opportunities.  Scholarships   This link will be updated as additional scholarship opportunities are available.
  • During the fall of a student’s senior year, parents and students should fill out the Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA). This will determine the amount and type of aid each student will be eligible for (federal grants, work-study, and loans, all in one application). This should be completed by January of the year they need the aid. If it is not completed by this time, students may miss out on the opportunity for any aid package. If you have any questions about filing for the FAFSA, please feel free to contact Ms. Westerhoff.
  • CATS Time-students should select their CATs for Monday on Friday and select Thursday’s CATS on Wednesday. They shouldn't choose for Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays. Seniors have open campus during CATS—unless a teacher has selected you to be in their CATS, then you must report to that teacher.
  • FCA (Fellow of Christian Athletes) will meet on Wednesdays at 6:15pm at The Beach's House (44 Rainbow Dr. in Humboldt).  There will be a light supper, fellowship time, and a bible lesson.  Would love to have you join us and bring a friend! If you need a ride, let Mrs. Beach know and transportation can be arranged!
  • Wildcat Warrior’s Game Club will meet every Monday in the media center from 3:30-5:30. Dungeons and Dragons, Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Catan, RoboRally, Splendor and many more…Bring a new game to teach or come and learn a new game.
  • Regarding live streaming of winter sports activities from Greg Thomas--When/if  I receive livestreaming and/or ticket information from schools we are traveling to, I will put that information on our rSchool Activities Calendar.   It will show up as a ticket icon and a film projector icon on that calendar.  You can simply click on the icon and it will take you to those links.  Please visit this website for the most up-to-date livestream and ticketing info:   https://www.northcentralconf.org/public/genie/176/school/8/   Scroll down to Monday, Nov. 21st (Girls BB @ Gilbert) for an example of what this looks like.If there are no links there, we haven't received any info from the host school.Another good thing to do is visit the host school's website for this information.  Feel free to share this with family, friends and community members.
