• There will be a boys wrestling parent and athlete meeting on November 12 at 6 PM in the middle school cafeteria.

• There will be a brief boys basketball team meeting in Coach Thurm’s classroom after school on Wednesday. This is for grades 9-12.

• The next FFA meeting is November 12 at 6 pm. We will meet at the High School Ag
  room. There will be Casey’s Pizza for supper. Chapter t-shirts will be handed out to members
  during the meeting. After the meeting, we will decorate cookies for the assisted living facilty and
  play dodgeball!

• Student Senate invites everyone to the 2nd annual Powderpuff Tournament on November 15th, starting at 6:30 PM. Doors open at 6:15 PM. The cost to get in is $5, and the proceeds will go towards stocking the FUEL pantry with Tide washing machine pods. It’s a guaranteed fun and exciting night. Help support our students and celebrate an outstanding fall activities season.  

• Please read the letter at the bottom of the announcements for a great opportunity for students to serve as a member of the Humboldt School Board.

• “The Music Man” tickets are available in the office.  $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for students. It’s going to be a GREAT show!!!  Note-the Friday night show has been moved to Saturday afternoon at 1:00.

• Date Change– Please sign up in the office if you are interested in basketball or wrestling cheerleading. There will be a meeting Tuesday, November 12th at 3:45 in the HS Media Center. Tryout practice Wednesday, November 13th at 3:45-6:00. Tryouts Thursday, November 14th at 4:00.

• The After Prom Committee is fundraising with Pampered Chef.  All funds raised help us provide the kids a fun, safe event after the dance.  Orders ship directly to you, and all orders are due November 29th.  Help us out and get a jump start on Christmas shopping!  Thanks for checking it out.

• Juniors and Seniors can now make changes to their second-semester schedule (including college classes) through November 8^th.  All students can adjust their schedule for the second semester starting on November 11th.

• FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) welcomes all students, not just athletes. FCA will meet every other Sunday at Mrs. Beach’s home (201 12^th St SW, Humboldt) 6:00-7:30. A light meal will be provided with fellowship time.  The meeting dates for this fall are:   11/3, 11/17, 12/1 and 12/15. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Beach. 

Dear High School Students,

Our School Board Members and district administrators strongly believe in shared leadership and decision-making. Once again, we invite a high school student to serve on our school board from December 16, 2024 through July 2025. We need student board members who are able to communicate and relate with ALL student groups, grades, and staff members.

Eligibility and duties:

• board meetings are typically the third Monday evening at 5:30 each month. Attendance is important.
• be a full-time high school student in the district 
• participate in an orientation of board responsibilities and procedures as determined by the Superintendent; 
• participate in the discussion, but not vote, at all regular board meetings held in open session;
• facilitate communication between the board and student body
• assist with gathering survey and stakeholder information
• participate in district committees
• abide by all applicable sections of the Board Members’ Code of Ethics
