Good afternoon!
Yesterday ended our first grading period (as a reminder, we combined trimesters 1 and 2 for our report cards.) Monday, February 17th, resets our attendance requirements for the rest of the year. Here are the important day counts to remember: a 10% letter is sent via certified mail at 6 unexcused days between now and the end of the year. A 15% letter and required attendance meeting will occur at 10 days missed, and at 20%, or 13 days, a referral is made to the county attorney. We haven’t had many students reach the 15% mark over the first half of the year; I have appreciated the communication on missed days and doctor’s notes on illnesses! Please let me know if you have any questions on this.
If you haven’t already done so, please sign up at https://myconferencetime.com/humboldt/. These are scheduled for Tuesday, February 18th, and Thursday, February 20th; these days are both two-hour early dismissals. There is no early dismissal on Wednesday, February 19th, and no school on Friday, February 21st. If you have any issues with the scheduler or need times moved, please contact Cassie Hartmann at chartmann@humboldt.k12.ia.us.
Lost & Found – Everything in lost and found has been set out in front of the office. Please stop during conferences to see if anything belongs to your student. Anything left over after conferences will be donated.
