Note from Mrs. Kester:

We’ve had a busy week here at Mease with the majority of our beginning of the year assessments wrapping up, along with our first fire drill and picture day. It will be nice to have a few full weeks coming up to continue to get into a solid routine.  We do have a professional development day next Tuesday, September 20th, so there will be no school for students.  Dr. Luis Cruz from Solution Tree will be here to present to our staff on the connections between our PLC and MTSS processes - it will be a great day of learning for us!  We will still have a one hour early out on Wednesday the 21st.

Reminder for Afternoon Preschool Parents:  Please do not drop students off any earlier than 12 noon. Preschool Teachers are not back in their classrooms until then and doors do not open for students to enter the building until this time. We appreciate your help with this.

Reminder: No School on Tuesday September 20th.

FUEL: Please click on the following link if you are in need of assistance from the FUEL program. The link will be found in the announcements each week. LINK

The Army National Guard will have a helicopter on sight in the high school baseball outfield from 4:45-7:00 PM today, Sept. 16th. Everyone is welcome to go check out the helicopter, take pictures, climb in it, or just ask questions about it. At 7:15, the helicopter will be taking off and headed back to Boone.

Lion's Club vision screening:

For those of you that are not familiar with this program, they take a picture of your child's eyes and send it in to the University of Iowa to be evaluated and then forms are sent back to the school on if there were any concerns or not. If your child wears glasses they will not be screened. Please have your eye doctor complete the vision form and return to school if you haven't yet.

Please fill out the consent form , sign and return to school as soon as possible. If your child has not had a vision screening for Kindergarten enrollment yet, this will count for that. If your child is in preschool it will count for next year Kindergarten enrollment.

Any questions please contact the school nurse

Christine Hardgrove

The Humboldt Dance Team will be hosting 'fill the truck events' over the next couple of weeks.

  • At the volleyball game on September 27th from 5-7:30pm we will be set up at the high school near the back cafeteria/gym doors. We will be collecting new/gently used blankets for animal shelters and homeless shelters.

  • At the Homecoming football game on September 30th from 6-7:45pm we will be set up at the high school between the admission gate and concession stand. We will be collecting clothing and food items for people in need.

  • At all of these events, we will also have a bucket for monetary donations. The final proceeds from the collection bucket will be split between Moffitt, Peace Creak, and Lazy J Rescues.

Several dance teams across the state participated in events like this last year. Humboldt was able to raise more money than any other team in the state! Follow the Humboldt High School Dance Team on Facebook to stay updated on the results from these community based fundraisers :)

PATHS is our parent organization that does so much for our students and teachers at Taft.  They provide food for conferences, field trips for students, and supplies for our staff, amongst numerous other things.  They do sell SCRIP cards year round to local businesses in which a percentage returns to our schools.  See Miss Casady in the office if you would like to purchase these at any point in the year.
