A note from Mr. Fedders:
We will hold our spring elementary conferences in-person. Please sign up using this link:https://www.myconferencetime.com/humboldt/. If you feel more comfortable with a zoom or phone conference, please contact your child’s teacher, and this can be arranged. We do ask that only parents and the student attend conferences to limit the number of people within our buildings. We also ask that 1st and 2nd grade families enter the building through the main entrance; 3rd and 4th grade families please enter through the west doors near the 3rd and 4th grade wing. Masks are required in the building!
Grade level highlights:
1st grade: Students are learning about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington in Social Studies with their birthdays this month.
2nd grade: Students are learning about different environments, including rain forests and Alaska during their reading instruction.
3rd grade: Students are learning to score their writing pieces using a rubric.
4th grade: Students completed our winter assessments and are very pleased with the growth our students have made so far this year.
With the colder weather here, please help your students remember warm coats, hats, gloves, snow pants and boots. If you are in need of assistance obtaining these items, please contact your child’s teacher or Ms. Hardgrove at firstname.lastname@example.org or 332-3216, as we have received a generous donation of various items and can also recommend different programs in the community.
Parent Portal - we are looking at doing 2021-2022 registration online through our student information system (Infinite Campus). To be able to register you will need to have your parent portal set up. If you do not have a parent portal account set up yet please contact Mrs. Hartmann; she will email you instructions.
PATHS Fundraiser - SCRIP Gift Cards - This is a great way for you to support your child’s school. This is not a door to door fundraiser, but rather an opportunity for you to buy gift cards for others or for your own personal use. Proceeds from the sale go to the school for educational experiences. Paper copies of the order form will be sent home with all elementary students. Order deadline is February 11th. You can pick your gift cards up at school during Parent Teacher conferences or they can be mailed to you for a fee. Thank you for your support!
Free and reduced meals: If already receiving benefits you do not need to re-apply. You can find the instructions and applications for free and reduced price meals on our website http://www.humboldt.k12.ia.us or at the following links: Information or Information-Spanish. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.
