Note from Mr. Fedders:
Good afternoon!
I hope that everyone enjoyed their winter break (an additional day on the Thursday before was a nice surprise!) We are glad to have everyone back in the building this week and have spent a good deal of time resetting and reviewing our PBIS building-wide expectations in common areas (lunch, recess, restrooms, and hallways) along with overall classroom expectations to ensure a smooth start to the new year.
Our staff is ready to continue our work to best meet student needs as the year continues to progress. Students will be taking their mid-year FAST assessments over the next few weeks; teachers will be excited to share progress on these and other classroom learning goals at conferences in February.
The Humboldt Rec Department is offering new youth programs for children in grades 3-6. Multisport Fitness Fun will be a 4-week program that is held on Thursday nights from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Humboldt Rec Center. Each night, different games will be held at the Rec Center such as kickball, handball and dodgeball. The games played will vary each week. This program runs from January 19 to February 9.
Mini Cats Indoor Track clinic is a two-week clinic running on Saturday mornings, hosted at the Rec Center and ran by the Humboldt Track Team. Participants will be introduced to the basics of running and other foundational track skills. These clinics are being held on February 25th and March 4th. Parents can sign their kids up for these programs in person at the Humboldt Rec Center or online at: https://tinyurl.com/HRegister
Parents: attached is information on free and reduced meals. If already receiving benefits you do not need to re-apply. You can find the instructions and applications for free and reduced price meals on our website www.humboldt.k12.ia.us If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.
The Humboldt Dance Team Clinic will be the morning of January 28th. Please sign your dancer up by today, January 6th. If you would like to register online, please use the following form link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdvlTIVoSXxd5X5hJ2j1Hd5maQ2eE0U7BwtCOwGTZZPImrfqg/viewform
