A note from Mr. Fedders:
I hope that everyone has had a chance to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather this week! There are quite a few important events happening towards the end of the year, so be sure to check out the Important Dates to Remember section within the message. Please let us know if you have any questions on these; more detailed information will be coming in future messages about a few specific events.
Dress Code Reminder - Flip flops or similar footwear is not appropriate to wear at our elementary schools. They do not provide the protection needed during PE and/or daily recess. Please keep these shoes for casual wear at home. Closed toed shoes such as tennis shoes are a safer option. Thank you for your cooperation.
The Humboldt County Fair invites girls completing 1st grade through 4th grade to participate in the Junior Miss contest. Please submit the Contest Form by midnight on July 9th, 2021. Junior Miss candidates will be introduced and asked one question on stage. We look forward to meeting you in the Polka Hall building at 6:45pm on Wednesday, July 21st, 2021. Last Day of School for Kindergarten through 11th grade will be May 28th. All buildings will dismiss 3 hours early; Taft will dismiss at 12:10 p.m.. Lunch will be served prior to dismissal. The last day of school for EC-4 and EC-5 will be May 27th.
Meal Balances - all students have been receiving free meals since mid-September. If a student takes an extra milk there is a 50 cent charge. Please pay when you receive an email notice. Negative balances need to be paid before the last day of school. Thank you.
Upper Des Moines Opportunity Family Pool Pass Program sign up is open now. For eligibility and more information call UDMO office at 515-332-3631 Monday thru Thursday from 8am-3pm. Applications are taken over the phone. There is a limited number availables so don’t delay.
Need help with your heating/electric bill? Upper Des Moines Opportunity is taking LiHeap (Low-income Home Energy Assistance Program) applications until April 29. For eligibility and more information call UDMO office at 515-332-3631 Monday thru Thursday from 8am-3pm.
1st-12th Grade Swim Team - Deadline is May 7th. Register online or on April 19, 2021 5pm-7pm at 208 3rd Ave South, Humboldt.
1st & 2nd Grade Coach Pitch Baseball and Softball - Deadline is May 7th. Registration and payment are due to the Humboldt Rec Center.
3rd-6th Grade Baseball Registration - Deadline is May 7th. Registration and payment are due to the Humboldt Rec Center.

May 27 - Last Day of Preschool (EC-4) and EC-5
May 28 - 4th Grade Graduation at the High School Auditorium -9:30-10:30. Parents welcome.
May 28 - Last Day of School; 3 Hour Early Dismissal
