  • Humboldt has 8 wrestlers still in the quest to qualify for the 2022 State Wrestling tourney at Wells Fargo Arena on Feb. 17-19, 2022.   They will be competing in Districts at Ballard High School (Huxley, Iowa) this Saturday, Feb. 12th with wrestling starting at 11:00 AM.  Wrestling will begin at 106 weight class. All tickets must be purchased online at: https://www.iahsaa.org/tickets/

  • Soundsations Auditions-March 1 3:30-5:30. Sign up for audition spot on the choral music bulletin board.
  • All regional basketball tickets for the girls game here in Humboldt on Wed. Feb. 16th at 7:00 PM when we host LeMars has to be purchased at:

  • Winter formal pictures are available in the office
  • HHS will be celebrating Pi Day on Monday, March 14.  The math department is looking for people to donate pies and workers to help cut and serve the pies.  Pies need to be nut free. Please no pies that need refrigeration as we won't have a place to keep them.  Pies need to be at the high school by noon Monday, March 14.  Students are welcome to bring them before school and drop off in the auditorium lobby.  Workers cutting the pies would need to come around 1:00. Thanks for helping us make Pi Day a fun day for our students!

  • Congratulations to the following Special Olympic Athletes: Adam Duffy- 3rd, Cami Pederson- 1st,  Sujiery Venegas- 2nd. Congratulations to all of the Special Olympic Athletes on their participation!!
  • Boys basketball post season-Humboldt will host Sioux Center on Monday, Feb. 21st at 7:00 PM. The winner will play LeMars/Sgt. Bluff-Luton winner at Humboldt on Thursday, Feb. 24th at 7:00 PM. On the other half of our bracket is:      Storm Lake vs. MOC @ Spencer 6:30 PM (2/21/22)      Algona @ Spencer 8:00 PM  (2/21/22).  Winners of the 2nd round games will play at a site TBD in Substate Final on Monday, Feb. 28th for a trip to Wells Fargo and the 3A state tournament. All tickets must be purchased online at   https://www.iahsaa.org/tickets/

Only IHSAA passes can be honored since this is an IHSAA event.

  • Seniors: Voting is now open for the senior standouts and superlatives for the 2022 yearbook. Mrs. K sent you a Google Form to your school email.
  • Reminder-Delivery of flowers, balloons, singing telegrams, etc will not be allowed two days before through two days after Valentine’s Day-February 10-16.
  • College Visits:
    • Briar Cliff University March 4th at 9 am.
    • Iowa State March 10 at 11:15

Where to Go For Help

  • On March 23rd Iowa Central will be hosting their spring career fair (please see attachment). There is to be expected around 125 businesses in attendance. This is a great opportunity for those who want to go straight into the workforce following graduation, connect with area businesses, practice their elevator pitch, prepare an appropriate business casual outfit and practice good hygiene. If students have an updated resume to share with the businesses that would be suggested.
  • The Home Builders Association of Greater Des Moines is hosting Build My Future in Des Moines on Wednesday, April 13th at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. This is a hands-on career fair & industry showcase that brings together employers in skilled trades to expose young people to different careers including but not limited to the following:

    - Manufacturing
    - Healthcare/Nursing
    - Law Enforcement & Emergency Services
    - Military
    - Culinary, Restaurant & Hospitality
    - Agriculture
    - Commercial &  Residential construction
    - Heavy Equipment Operations
    - Trucking/Driver
    - Automotive
    - IT & Cybersecurity
    - Energy & More!

We will be attending the event and touring a college campus.  Sign up outside the office by February 28th if you are interested in attending. Space is limited to 50 students.

  • Join Buena Vista University for their Computer Science Visit Day on Monday, February 28, 2022. Students will explore the career opportunities within their Computer Science programs. Students will participate in three hands-on learning sessions in the areas of robotics, computer security, and virtual reality throughout the day. Lunch will be provided, and they will end the day with a question-and-answer session with current students in their computer science programs. Registration fills up quickly.

  • The 2022 Young Women in Leadership Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from morning to early afternoon. This fourth annual event, hosted by the University of Northern Iowa Women in Business, is open to all high school students and is geared toward developing young leaders. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers focused on topics relating to leadership, as well as personal and professional development. 

Registration fees will be $15 per attendee, which will include a t-shirt, lunch, and training! Registration runs from January 26 to February 23- be sure to register early as spots are limited. http://www.uniwomeninbusiness.com/ywil-conference.html

  • Wildcat Warriors Game Club-We will be meeting every Monday in the Media Center from 3:30 to 5:30.  Bring a new game to teach or come and learn a new game. See Mr. Lauger or Skyler Nielsen for more information.
  • FCA--Wednesdays at Mrs. Beach's House (44 Rainbow Drive) 6:15.  Would love to have you join us for a light meal and time in the Word.
  • Cat Cafe punch cards are available for purchase in the high school office. Cost is $10 for $11 worth of punches.  The Cat Cafe will hold your card for you, so you'll always have funds for your favorite Cat Cafe drinks!
