  • Congratulations to the Varsity Basketball teams and JV boys on their victories over St. Edmond’s last night! Way to go Cats!!!
  • Spring Play rehearsal schedules are available in room #15 for pickup.
  • The Yearbook Staff has posted a list of students who've already bought a yearbook in the office window. If you bought a yearbook, check the list and make sure your name is on there.
    If your name is not on the list and you think it should be, please contact Mrs. K in room 20 immediately. Yearbook prices will be going up at the end of February. Pick up an order form in the office if you have not ordered yours yet. 
  • The bus for State Group Speech Contest in LeMars will load at 6:30 AM on Saturday in the back parking lot of HHS. Please be on time. 10 groups from Humboldt will perform.
  • Seniors-Please submit any photos you would like to see in the senior video to 2020hhsseniorvideo@gmail.com. This video is shown at the Senior breakfast and graduation.
  • Mease & Taft Elementary School Personnel and PATHS have joined efforts to promote a wonderful community project.  Please open the attached flyer.   We are reaching out to parents, grandparents, students and friends to join us to help contribute to the Annual Warm the Heart Food Drive.  We have set the dates for items to be delivered to Mease or Taft Schools from February 3-11.  Once all the items are gathered, we will make arrangements to have the donated items delivered to Humboldt County Public Health on February 12.  Below are the suggested items of need which are also listed on the flyer.   Thank you in advance for your generosity.  ANY non-food basic essentials such as toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, laundry soap, dish soap, deodorant. Food items in need such as canned chicken/ham/tuna, canned fruit/vegetables, instant potatoes, Hamburger Helper, peanut butter, jelly.  (Please, no expired items or items with a broken seal.)
  • Upper Des Moines Opportunity is hosting a Suit and Gown town for PROM event on Saturday, February 8, 2020, from 9- noon at UMDO 1235 1st Ave S in Fort Dodge. You can browse what they have and dressing rooms are available.
  • ICAN will be live-streaming a presentation, Life After High School: Career and College Planning seminar on February 6 at 6 pm from any device. The presentation will be live and the attendee can ask questions (typing or talking) to ICAN Student Success Advisor Steve Irvin as he presents.   • ICAN is hosting an event for seniors to take part in Covering College Costs: Understanding & Comparing College Financial Aid on Thursday, February 13 at 5:30 pm. This online presentation can be viewed on any device from the comfort of their home or office. The presentation will be live and the attendee can ask questions (typing or talking) to ICAN Student Success Advisor John Holland as he presents. Completing the FAFSA is an important step for students in the college-going process, but what happens after you hit submit? What are the next steps? In this webinar, we will explain the pieces of an award letter, how packages are put together, and how to compare one award package to another.   • Iowa Methodist Foundation Scholarship- We have over 100 scholarships to give out for the 2020-2021 school year. The deadline for applications is Sunday,  March 1.  Apply https://iumf.org/scholarships/
  • Sparkling Ice Scholarship-For a student who is not afraid to be themselves. They are looking for fun and unique candidates for their Flavorful Futures Scholarship. Sparkling Ice® is awarding FIVE $5,000 scholarships to eligible high school seniors who are planning their bright and colorful futures. If this sounds like one of your students, tell them to apply today! The deadline is approaching soon! Applications are due by February 15, 2020, and winners will be announced in Spring 2020. Must be a high school senior graduating between August 1, 2019, and July 31, 2020. Must have a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4-point scale (high school/home school seniors).
  • Imagine America Scholarships--Imagine America Scholarships is a program that offers scholarships to high school seniors or recent graduates planning to attend a career school participating in the Imagine America High School Scholarship Program. (Participating career schools are listed at www.imagine-america.org/our-schools/.)
  • OAKDALE CHAPTER IZAAK WALTON LEAGUE OF AMERICA - The essay is to be a 200-400 word essay on the preservation of wildlife, and the conservation of the land.  Entries must be sent to the address below by March 9, 2020, The winner will receive a $500 check from the Oakdale Chapter of the Izaak Walton League.  Send completed essays to:  Oakdale Chapter Izaak Walton League, 302 S.   • Hy-Vee Foundation Scholarships-For eligible high school seniors and college students who are seeking a four-year degree at any baccalaureate degree-granting in the USA. Postmarked by February 28, 2020. For more information visit hy-vee.com  For additional scholarships www.iowagrocers.com
  • ASVAB assessment- Another career tool available to our students. We will be administering the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) to students interested. These tests are designed to measure aptitudes in four domains: Verbal, Math, Science and Technical, and Spatial. The program provides tools to help students learn more about career exploration and planning, in both the civilian and military worlds of work. The ASVAB will be administered at the high school on February 12, 2020, from 12:00-3:00. Interested students should sign up in the office. We need at least 5 students to offer the test.
  • Iowa Central Community College invites students for the Jam-the-Gym and Triton Visit Day on Saturday, February 15, 2020, Starting at 9 am with the games to follow at 1 and 3 pm. Admission is free along with a t-shirt and a chance to win other great prizes. RSVP at www.iowacentral.edu/admission/visit.asp for the visit day. No need to register if you plan to attend only the games.
  • The Pocahontas County Soil and Water Conservation District will be giving two $750 scholarships this year. to any graduating senior that resides within Pocahontas County.  All applications are due back by April 5thSee Mrs. Powers for application.
