  • Congratulations to the boys 9th grade basketball team on their win over MNW last night!! Way to go!!
  • The Yearbook Staff has posted a list of students who've already bought a yearbook in the office window. If you bought a yearbook, check the list and make sure your name is on there.
    If your name is not on the list and you think it should be, please contact Mrs. K in room 20 immediately. Yearbook prices will be going up at the end of February. Pick up an order form in the office if you have not ordered yours yet. 
  • The last organizational meeting for Individual Speech will be held Monday February 11 at 3:30 in the Little Aud. We will be setting the roster for District Contest on that day or scheduling perfor-offs if necessary. If you are interested and unable to attend BE SURE to contact Mr. Terwilliger or Ms. Quade.
  • The bus for State Group Speech Contest in LeMars will load at 6:30 AM on Saturday in the back parking lot of HHS. Please be on time. 10 groups from Humboldt will perform.
  • Every Day Study Hall—forms to request every day study hall will be available in the office on Friday. These forms will need to be returned before Tuesday, February 11.
  • A pair of tortiseshell framed eye glasses were found after dance team night. Smaller frames so may be an elementary student. Glasses may be claimed at the middle school office. 
  • Seniors-Please submit any photos you would like to see in the senior video to This video is shown at the Senior breakfast and graduation.
  • Girls Track meeting—Monday, February 10 in Mr. Ross’ classroom MS # 401.
  • Mease & Taft Elementary School Personnel and PATHS have joined efforts to promote a wonderful community project.  Please open the attached flyer.   We are reaching out to parents, grandparents, students and friends to join us to help contribute to the Annual Warm the Heart Food Drive.  We have set the dates for items to be delivered to Mease or Taft Schools from February 3-11.  Once all the items are gathered, we will make arrangements to have the donated items delivered to Humboldt County Public Health on February 12.  Below are the suggested items of need which are also listed on the flyer.   Thank you in advance for your generosity.  ANY non-food basic essentials such as toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, laundry soap, dish soap, deodorant. Food items in need such as canned chicken/ham/tuna, canned fruit/vegetables, instant potatoes, Hamburger Helper, peanut butter, jelly.  (Please, no expired items or items with a broken seal.)
  • Upper Des Moines Opportunity is hosting a Suit and Gown town for PROM event on Saturday, February 8, 2020, from 9- noon at UMDO 1235 1st Ave S in Fort Dodge. You can browse what they have and dressing rooms are available.
  • ICAN is hosting an event for seniors to take part in Covering College Costs: Understanding & Comparing College Financial Aid on Thursday, February 13 at 5:30 pm. This online presentation can be viewed on any device from the comfort of their home or office.The presentation will be live and the attendee can ask questions (typing or talking) to ICAN Student Success Advisor John Holland as he presents. Completing the FAFSA is an important step for students in the college-going process, but what happens after you hit submit? What are the next steps? In this webinar, we will explain the pieces of an award letter, how packages are put together, and how to compare one award package to another. We will also discuss award letter comparison tools and the importance of creating a college budget.  Register online at
  • ASVAB assessment- Another career tool available to our students. We will be administering the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) to students interested. These tests are designed to measure aptitudes in four domains: Verbal, Math, Science and Technical, and Spatial. The program provides tools to help students learn more about career exploration and planning, in both the civilian and military worlds of work. The ASVAB will be administered at the high school on February 12, 2020, from 12:00-3:00. Interested students should sign up in the office. We need at least 5 students to offer the test.
  • Iowa Central Community College invites students for the Jam-the-Gym and Triton Visit Day on Saturday, February 15, 2020, Starting at 9 am with the games to follow at 1 and 3 pm. Admission is free along with a t-shirt and a chance to win other great prizes. RSVP at for the visit day. No need to register if you plan to attend only the games.
