  • Have you heard the news?  The Humboldt Athletic Boosters has been selected as the beneficiary of the Hy Vee reusable bag Program that supports local nonprofits! Each time a $2.50 red My Heart reusable bag is purchased at the Humboldt HyVee during the month of November we will receive a one dollar donation. Thanks for your support!
  • Varsity volleyball players will turn in gear right after school on Thursday. Be sure to pick up your PE Opt Out Activity Log in the office.
  • If you are planning on being a dual-sport athlete this winter, talk to Mr. Thomas this week.
  • Seniors: Please check your email and vote on three google forms for the yearbook. Votes are for Senior Standouts, Senior Superlatives, and Senior Class Quote. 
  • Seussical the Musical Cast and Crew! Permission slips for the cast party are available in the office. Permissions slips must be turned in TODAY. NO EXCEPTIONS. 
  • Tickets for Seussical the Musical are on sale in the office. $8.00 adults, $5.00 students. The office will be closed on Friday, November 8. We are here 7:45-4:30 any other day for musical tickets.  Get your tickets for a GREAT SHOW!!
  • ACT- Register by Nov. 8th to take the Dec. 14th test date. Register at www.act.org
  • State Drill Team shirts for sale. Order forms will be available in the office. Orders are due back by November 12.
  • The first meeting for Contest Speech will be Monday November 11 at 5 PM in the Little Aud. All students interested in or curious about speech should attend. If you are interested but unable to attend on Monday, contact Mr. Terwilliger for a sign up form.
  • We want to know what's on your mind! Please complete the school's Community Climate Survey by Friday, November 8, 2019.  Thank you, Mr. Greg Darling, Superintendent
  • PE Opt out Activity Logs—If you are between Fall/Winter sports and have opted out of PE, pick up your activity log in the office. Be sure your name gets marked off that you received your log.  You will need to complete 120 minutes of activity for each week between end of your Fall and beginning of your Winter sport  The activity can be walking, jogging, playing basketball, etc., but must be something aerobic. Return the forms before your winter sport begins.  
  • There will be a GBB meeting TODAY during homeroom in Mr. Mooney's room.  All girls planning on playing BB this year need to attend.   Be there or be square.
  • L.E.A.P meeting for November 11 at 6:00 pm to anyone who would like to help with the Badger Public Library Christmas part
  • Football banquet will be November 11 at 6:00 in the HS cafeteria. Please bring two dishes to share and your own table service. There will be lemonade and coffee provided.  Football players are asked to dress up
  • Cross Country banquet will be held on Tuesday, November 12 in the HS cafeteria at 6:30.Please bring two dishes to share plus your own table service. Lemonade and coffee will be provided.
  • Boys Swim Team will be starting practices on November 11th at 3:45 at the FDSH Pool.  If you know of boy that is interested please contact: Ashley Beaumont, abeaumont@fdschools.org (641) 831-0129
  • Spring Registration for Iowa Central Classes is now open – please see Mrs. Powers if you are interested in taking a college class.
  • Seniors: Senior portraits are due to the yearbook staff by the end of Thanksgiving Break. Digital copies are preferred, but physical copies of wallet-sized pictures can be turned in as well. Email pictures to rkeolakhonevong@humboldt.k12.ia.us, or turn in to Mrs. K at the high school.
  • Career Days at Iowa Central- November 7-Music and Theatre. Preregistration is required.
  • The Iowa United Methodist Foundation offers thousands of dollars in scholarships every year to students who demonstrate academic and community excellence. Scholarship applications are open December 1 – March 1 annually. All applications and required documents, such as essays, references, and transcripts can be submitted through the online portal.   • Duke University Summer Session! On December 3rd, students interested in attending the summer program at Duke University can begin their applications.   https://summersession.duke.edu/

  • College Rep schedule for juniors and seniors:
    • November 12- Northwestern in Orange City at 10:30
    • November 25-Ellsworth Community College at 11:00
