Note from Mr. Fedders:

Good afternoon, Taft Families!

It’s hard to believe that we’re already halfway through November!  As I’ve mentioned previously, our staff and students have done a tremendous job of following our mitigation procedures.  With the increased spread of COVID 19 within the community, along with the holidays quickly approaching, we ask that you please think carefully about what our students are doing outside of school.  We’ve had a great start to the year, and our goal is to be in person as long as we possibly can.  Thanks for your support in helping us to meet this goal!

Below are our grade level highlights for the week:

Grade level highlights:

1st - students completed some activities to learn about the importance of Veteran’s Day.

2nd - students began using our new Social Studies curriculum this week.

3rd - students created over 100 cards for Hyvee to include with a Veteran’s Day meal.

4th - students chose an animal to research and then created a google slide presentation about their animal to share with the class.

PATHS Fundraiser SCRIP Gift Card Sale Order Forms were sent home with all elementary students earlier this week. This is not a door to door fundraiser, but rather for you to purchase for your own personal use or for gifts for your family and friends. When you buy SCRIP gift cards the company gives PATHS back a percentage of the sale for selling their gift cards. If you would like to order please send the completed form and money to school no later than November 19th. All orders will be mailed so please add $1.00 to your order total to cover the postage. We plan on mailing orders out by November 24th. If you have any questions please email humboldtpaths@gmail.com or find us on Facebook at Humboldt PATHS. Thank you for your support; all proceeds from this sale goes directly to your child’s school.

Out of the abundance of caution for the health and safety of the public and staff, Humboldt Public Library will be returning to curbside services for the check-out of library materials. Curbside is offered Monday: 9 am - 7:30 pm; Tuesday - Friday: 9 am - 5pm; Saturday 9 am - 2:30 pm. Curbside service only is effective beginning Thursday, November 12. Call the library at 332-1925, or visit the library’s website to request material.

The HS Boys Basketball team store is open through November 16. The store can be accessed through the following link; https://humboldthsbb2020.itemorder.com/sale

The HS Wrestling team store is open through November 15. The store can be accessed through the following link; https://humboldt-wrestling.itemorder.com/sale

With the colder weather here, please help your students remember warm coats, hats, gloves (snowpants and boots too for snow). If you are in need of assistance obtaining these items, please contact the school as we have received a generous donation of various items and can also recommend different programs in the community.
