Note from Mr. Fedders:
Good afternoon, all!
Thanksgiving break is already upon us with a short 3 day week coming up. I did want to share just a few things that I have been thankful for in my time here at Taft Elementary. First of all, I’m thankful for a dedicated staff - teachers, support staff, custodians, and food service workers,- that are always willing to go above and beyond to help students in any way necessary. They are willing to truly move mountains for students! I’m also thankful for our students who come to school each day eager to learn and who have done a tremendous job of doing things that we’d never thought we’d have to ask our children to do at school. I’m thankful for our community and PATHS organization who are willing to support staff and students with any needs that they may have. Finally, I’m thankful for the support that our school receives from our parents, which ranges from keeping students home when they’re not feeling well to partnering with our teachers to problem solve any issues that may be occurring either in or out of school. Thank you for all of your support, understanding, and patience this year as we navigate uncharted waters together! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving; stay safe all!
There will be no after school program on November 25th.
Giving Tree - a note has been sent home with all elementary students about an opportunity to support the local food pantry. If you would like to contribute to this school-wide service project please bring your items to school by December 21st. We will place them under the Giving Tree in the main hall at Mease. We ask for these donations in lieu of gifts for staff. Thank you for your generosity in helping families in our community during this holiday season.
With the colder weather here, please help your students remember warm coats, hats, gloves (snowpants and boots too for snow). If you are in need of assistance obtaining these items, please contact the school as we have received a generous donation of various items and can also recommend different programs in the community.
There are the following changes due pancake on a stick not being available in November:
November 23rd - blueberry waffle, cereal(HS)
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Dates to Remember:
November 25 - 2 Hour Early Out, No after school program
November 26 - Thanksgiving
November 27 - No School
