It was a great full week at Taft!  Students are continuing to do a great job with our school wide expectations.  Staff members have talked about how impressive it is that students are wearing masks at the appropriate times, as well as social distancing when possible.  Teachers and students are also doing a tremendous job with technology; Google Classroom is up and running building-wide!  This will be our primary platform of service should the need for remote or hybrid learning arise.

As we’ve communicated out, our plans are flexible and will change.  Starting on Thursday, we did begin to allow some recess equipment after discussion with the Humboldt County Public Health Department.  Wildcat Wonderland was a place where too many students were congregating at recess.  The equipment is distributed by grade level and will be sanitized daily.  At this time, we do ask that no equipment comes from home.

No School on Monday, September 7th as we observe Labor Day.  Enjoy your long weekend!

The 2020 HHS football t-shirts (short and long sleeve) are available to order until next Monday, September 7th. Order online at https://humboldtfootball2020.itemorder.com/sale or in the High School Office by 4:00 p.m. on Friday.  Both youth and adult sizes are available.

Friday, September 4th is our first home football game vs. Storm Lake at 7 PM. It is also Senior Night; senior recognition will begin at 6:30. Masks are highly recommended for all spectators when social distancing isn’t possible. Elementary Students will sit in the separate set of bleachers located just south of the main stadium bleachers or they can sit with their parents. Under no circumstance should students be running around, playing football or any other games. Students are expected to stay on our side of the field or court in the bleachers at all times. None of our students should be on the opposing sideline or in their bleachers.  Remember to have your activity pass ready to show at the gate if you have one.  Cheer loudly in a positive manner and support our Wildcats! Thank you for your cooperation. BE PROUD TO BE A WILDCATS!  Mr. Greg Thomas, Humboldt Activities Director

Activity Tickets are available for purchase in any school office.  Cost is $50 for a student in grades kindergarten through 4th grade.  There is no charge for Preschool (EC-4) or EC-5 to attend regularly scheduled athletic events at Humboldt High School.  We also have adult athletic tickets for sale at a cost of $45 for a ten punch pass.

PATHS (Parents and Teachers for Humboldt Students) will meet on Tuesday, September 8th in the Pasquales Party Room at 5:30 p.m.  All parents of Mease and Taft students are welcome to attend. If you have any questions please email humboldtpaths@gmail.com.  We look forward to meeting new parents at our first meeting of the new school year.  Shannon Rieck, President.

School Pictures - Midwest Portraits will be at Taft on September 8th to photograph all students and staff.  There will not be picture packets sent home in advance.  Instead you will receive an email with the link to order school pictures after you have had a chance to proof your child’s photo.  If you have any questions please contact Midwest Portraits at 515-332-8175.
