  • High School Activities February 24-29

  • Wrestling banquet is Tuesday March 10 @ 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Please bring a hot dish, table service, salad and/or dessert. We will be honoring all high school wrestlers. Goal is 100% attendance. All wrestlers (boys and girls), managers, cheerleaders, family and friends are invited.
  • The GBB Banquet will be held on Friday March 6 at 6 pm in the MS cafeteria.   Please bring 2 dishes to share and your table service.   Lemonade will be provided.   All 9 - 12 players, managers, and parents are invited to attend.
  • District Individual Speech contest is Saturday. As of Monday afternoon, no students have signed up in the office for practice times. Students who want to participate in contest will need to arrange a practice time with Mr.Terwilliger or Ms. Quade. If you signed up for speech and do not want to perform, please contact the speech coaches as soon as possible. Thanks.
  • The GBB team will be going to the state tournament on Thursday, March 5.   We will be leaving at 8am and returning around 6.   Please sign up in the office by Tuesday March 3 if you intend to go.
  • Silver Cord Opportunity--- Sunday, March 29. at Oak Hill Church, 10:00 am until 1:30 pm. Responsibilities would be delivering plates of food to tables and then bussing Tables and general clean-up afterwards. This is a church event, so proper attire is requested. Business casual would be best. There is a sign-up sheet in the office. Please sign up before March 23.
  • There will be a mandatory meeting for all girls who intend to play soccer this year in Mr Mooney's room on Thursday during Homeroom. Be there or be square!!
  • Yearbook prices will be going up in March. Buy your yearbook now for the cheaper price ($45 unengraved, $48 engraved). Order forms in the office. 
  • If you missed the Trapshooting team meeting on Sunday evening, forms are available in the high school office. They need to be returned by this Thursday, February 27th. Call Coach Brian Earnst with questions at 515-368-1988.
  • There is a sign up sheet in the office for girls soccer.   Please sign up by Wednesday, February 26th if you intend to play.
  • SPRING SOCCER CLINIC-HIGH SCHOOL BOYS & GIRLS SOCCER. Northwestern coaching staff are providing a remarkable opportunity for Humboldt Wildcat soccer athletes to gain high quality collegiate coaching and instruction to kick off the start to the 2020 soccer season. Hope to see you take advantage of this experience. 
    •  When: March 9th - 12th (4:15 PM - 6:15 PM)
    •  Where: High School Gym (outside if amazing weather arrives)
    •  Who: Boys & Girls high school soccer players
    •  Cost: $50 (four day clinic)

  • No school-- Friday, February 28-P-T Comp Day. The office will be closed.
  • Student Senate applications are available in the office. They are due back March 10. If you have any questions, please ask Mrs. Nielsen.
  • If you are interested in helping as stage crew for the spring play, there is a signup sheet in Mrs. Wiebke’s room.
  • The Math Department is selling Pi Day shirts.  Shirts are $10 each.  You can pick up an order form in the office or from your math teacher.  All orders and money due into the office by 3:30 pm on Thursday, Feb 27.
  • The Math Department is looking for people to help cut and serve pie and donate pies for our annual Pi Day celebration.  Since Pi Day is on a Saturday this year, we plan to celebrate on Friday, March 13.  Pies can be brought to the auditorium lobby before school on Friday, March 13. Remember, we do not have refrigeration, so please no cream pies. Cherry, apple, pumpkin, blueberry, etc work best. We also have students with nut allergies, so please no pies with nuts.  You can sign up on the following website
  • Reminder—When your winter sport ends, you need to pick up a PE Opt Out Activity log. These are available in the office.
  • Do you like neon colors and blacklights? On Friday, March 6th, there will be a Throwback Glow Dance in the cafeteria from 8-11pm. Tickets will be $4 beforehand and $5 at the door. Tickets can be purchased from Mrs.K now, or during lunch beginning Friday. No middle school students or guests/dates over 21 will be allowed in.  Any guests/dates that are not students at HHS will need to be registered in the office. 
  • High School Parent Teacher Conferences TODAY 4:00-7:30.
  • ACT registration is Feb 28 for the April 4 test date. To register, go to www.actstudent.org
