A note from Mr. Fedders:
Good afternoon, Taft families!
It’s been a busy week here at school, with the majority of our recesses occurring inside. This has led to a lot of build up energy and excitement, which concluded with our Valentine’s Day Party on Friday! As a reminder, we stay inside for recess when our “feels like” temperatures are zero degrees and below. The cold looks like it will continue into next week, so please continue to send snow pants, boots, gloves, and hats with your child, just in case our temperatures rise above this level. Thank you!
1st grade - Students are comparing and contrasting how school was long ago and now.
2nd grade - Students made it outside for recess 1 day, and they got to celebrate our friendships with Valentines.
3rd grade - Students have been working so hard to put together all their songs, actions, and individual parts for the music program.
4th grade - Students have been working hard this week to gain a better understanding of how to measure angles using a protractor.
We will hold our spring elementary conferences in-person. Please sign up using this link:https://www.myconferencetime.com/humboldt/. If you feel more comfortable with a zoom or phone conference, please contact your child’s teacher, and this can be arranged. We do ask that only parents and the student attend conferences to limit the number of people within our buildings. We also ask that 1st and 2nd grade families enter the building through the main entrance; 3rd and 4th grade families please enter through the west doors near the 3rd and 4th grade wing. Masks are required in the building!
With the colder weather here, please help your students remember warm coats, hats, gloves, snow pants and boots. If you are in need of assistance obtaining these items, please contact your child’s teacher or Ms. Hardgrove at email@example.com or 332-3216, as we have received a generous donation of various items and can also recommend different programs in the community.
Parent Portal - we are looking at doing 2021-2022 registration online through our student information system (Infinite Campus). To be able to register you will need to have your parent portal set up. If you do not have a parent portal account set up yet please contact Mrs. Hartmann; she will email you instructions.
