Good afternoon!

We had a wonderful turnout for the PATHs Back to School Bash on Monday night; it was great to see so many families there joining in on the fun!  We are so fortunate here in Humboldt to have this great organization that does so much for our students and teachers.  A huge thank you goes out to these volunteers: Jenny Boswell, Brenda Larsen, Ashley David, Tom Nostrom, Cara Murphy, Chelsea Nostrom, Adi Cornelius, Amanda Pederson, Carrie Spellmeyer, Steph Bowden, Nick Bowden, Joel Rasmussen, Steve Long, Travis Pederson, Brad Ganeff, Clay Wells, Amie Wells, Amy Nostrom, Shannan Rieck, Brittany Ganeff, Julianne Cooke, Ayden Russel, Zachary Pate, Draven Harklaau, and Levi Rieck

Please be on the lookout for the Lion’s Club vision screening permission form that was sent home with your child this week. Please fill these out and send it back to school by

Sept 27th. This is a free service offered to our students to help assess visual difficulties.

This does count for the vision screening requirement for kindergarten. If you have any questions or need a new form feel free to contact the office, your child’s teacher or the school nurse.

Homecoming Week Elementary Dress up days:

  • Tuesday – USA Day (Wear red, White, Blue)
  • Wednesday – Hat Day 
  • Thursday – Mix and Match Day (socks, polka dots, plaid)
  • Friday – Blue and Gold Day

No school Monday, September 18.

Reminder: The Humboldt High School Cheerleaders will be hosting a cheer clinic for grades 1-4 for all those who signed up. The clinic will be held on Wednesday September 20th after school until 5:00 at the Taft Gym. 

Lunch reminder – if you plan to eat with your child, you need to call the office by 9 AM so that we can get an accurate lunch count.  We will not be able to serve adult lunches if you have not called ahead.

PICTURES: You will receive an email from Midwest Portraits on September 21st so you can view and order school pictures. If your child needs retakes or was absent on September 14, please let the school office know by contacting Cassie Hartmann at chartmann@humboldt.k12.ia.us. Retake day is September 28th. 

Help Keep a Child Warm this Winter

Applications for the UDMO Coats for Kids are available at the UDMO/Humboldt Co Pantry Office and are due back by Oct 1st. UDMO is now collecting monetary donations and coats for this program.

The Humboldt Dance Team will be hosting ‘fill the truck events’ over the next several weeks.

  • Homecoming football game on September 22nd from 6-7:45pm we will be set up at the high school between the admission gate and concession stand. We will be collecting new and gently used clothing items and blankets for people in need.
  • At all of these events, we will also have a bucket for monetary donations for local shelters.
