Note from Mr. Fedders:
Good afternoon!
We will have some changes for our Fall Celebrations this school year. As our diversity continues to increase at Taft, our Leadership Team has decided NOT to hold the Halloween costume parade or Halloween-themed parties this year. We have numerous students who choose not to celebrate for religious or cultural reasons. This results in students not showing up for school that day; it also results in students not being able to participate in the celebration with their peers. We will have fall-themed parties on November 3rd. More information will come on this later in the month.
Our conference sign-up link is live. Please sign up for a time to meet with your child’s teacher on October 23rd or 26th. The folder is titled Taft/Mease Fall Conferences 23-24. We are excited to update you on student progress and continue our partnerships together!
The Lions Club annual Pumpkin Run is on Oct 14 at Joe Sheldon Park. If you’ve done this in the past, you know it’s a lot of fun. If you would like your child to participate, please fill out the form that was sent home by October 10th so they can have enough pumpkins for all the runners. The run is open to 1st through 6th graders (younger allowed if accompanied by a parent). Form
We have rescheduled the cheer clinic participants’ performance to October 13. Please follow the note which was attached to their cheer bag for information regarding the evening performance. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email Pam Stalpes at pstalpes@humboldt.k12.ia.us.
Lunch reminder – if you plan to eat with your child, you need to call the office by 9 AM so that we can get an accurate lunch count. We will not be able to serve adult lunches if you have not called ahead.
