Good afternoon!

We wanted to update you on one of our big end-of-the-year events – our 3rd and 4th grade track meet.  Construction will be ongoing at the football field/track beginning in the middle-end of April, and this will take place through June.  Unfortunately, we won’t be able to utilize the space for our track meet in May like we traditionally have.  We are still finalizing plans of what this looks like specifically, but we do know that the event will be on a smaller scale/scope than it has been in the past.  We will communicate more specifics on this in the next few weeks.  Our plan is to return to a normal track/field event next year when renovations are not an issue!

Construction is flowing right along in our new addition space; they are pouring floor slabs in the gym this week.  The building is fully enclosed, so the crew will really be able to work on all of the remaining interior pieces.  The targeted completion date is still in late July/August, so we are on track to have the space opened up at the beginning of next school year.

Mental Health matters and so do you! Help us bring awareness to Humboldt County by participating in the HCMH 5K Color Run/Walk on Sunday, May 5th at the Humboldt High School. Student registrations are only $15 with general registrations being $35 – register online at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hcmh-5k-color-runwalk-registration-828950813197?aff=ebdssbdestsearch (To be guaranteed a shirt you must register before April 17th.)

Looking for a fun way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Get up and get moving by joining the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital and Public Health for the Green Mile. This free event is open to everyone to complete 8 laps around the track at the Rec Center on Sunday, March 17th from 1-3PM. We challenge you to wear your green in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day while doing your 8 laps around the track. We’ll have an obstacle course for the kiddos on the basketball course as well – join the fun with the whole family! *Please note you do not need to have a rec membership to participate in this event.

After Prom has teamed up with Humboldt Engraving for a fundraiser. The designs are a Paw Print or the Wildcat head on the glass cup with a bamboo lid and straw. The cost is $10 and $5 will go back to Project After Prom. Picture https://www.humboldtengraving.com/…/glass-cup-project-prom

Lunch reminder – if you plan to eat with your child, you need to call the office by 9 AM so that we can get an accurate lunch count.  We will not be able to serve adult lunches if you have not called ahead.
