Good afternoon!

Next week is teacher appreciation week in the district.  PATHs has a few things planned for our staff, along with a few others provided by the district.  We appreciate our staff daily, but be sure to reach out and thank your child’s teacher for all of their hard work sometime next week.  All that we do here wouldn’t be possible without our great staff!

Reminder on our 3rd and 4th grade Track Meet on Thursday, May 23rd:

As we mentioned in a previous message, our 3rd and 4th grade track day will look different this year due to construction beginning at the football field in late April.  It will look closer to a Fun Day than a Track Day.  Our afternoon will begin at 12:30 at the soccer field (a few blocks north of Taft.)  We will have our field events that afternoon, with an abbreviated running event due to the rough track surfacing and lack of lines on the track.

Parents are invited to this event, but there are a few things to be aware of.  Parking will be limited around the area, and we will have ropes around the outside of the track surface with students gathered in the infield area to call for/organize events.  There will be limited access to students due to this; there will also be no announcing of events as they come up.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation with this; we plan to go back to our normal event next year!

Fourth graders interested in youth football should plan to attend the fitting/meeting on May 8th in the middle school cafeteria starting at 6 PM.

The Humboldt County Fair invites girls completing 1st grade through 4th grade to participate in the Junior Miss contest. Please submit the Contest Form by midnight on July 12th, 2024.  Junior Miss candidates will be introduced and asked one question on stage. We look forward to meeting you in the Polka Hall building at 6:45pm on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024. Any questions please contact Cassie Hartmann at cassandra.jphoto@gmail.com.

There is still time to order a yearbook! Deadline to order this year’s yearbook is May 17th. Yearbooks will be ordered during the summer and handed out at the beginning of the school year next year.
